100th Day of School!

Today was our 100th day of school! We celebrated by so many things that I'll simply list them:
1. we made crowns that said, "I survived 100 days of kindergarten"
2. they presented their 100th day of school projects
3. we wrote about what we learned in the hundred days of school
4. we made 100 fingerprints
5. we daubed 100 circles with our bingo daubers
6. we used 100 circle labels to make a big picture
7. we painted gumballs using Q-tips putting 10 gumballs in each of the 10 machines (counting by 10's)
8.we enjoyed a 100th day of school snack-1 fudge stick waffle cookie + 2 fudge stripe cookies = 100

We were tired by the end of the day, but we had a blast! I took way too many pictures, so enjoy the fun!

Our First Field Trip!

On Friday, we visited the Kansas History Museum to celebrate Kansas' birthday. We had a blast! They had tons of fun booths, a scavenger hunt to find Kansas symbols throughout the museum, an old fashioned train to walk through, a play room, a teepee, and much more. Plus, we got to ride a bus to the museum. That was a highlight for many of the students. :-) Now, we are counting down the days until our next field trip in March.

Valentine's Day Art

Today, we made some hearts for our Valentine's Day bulletin board. First, the students picked their color of heart: pink or purple. After they cut out their heart, they chose two colors of tissue paper. Then, they cut the tissue paper apart and glued it to the heart. They had to made sure the tissue paper was glued down as flat as they could. Last, I squirted glitter glue onto their heart, and they used a paint brush to spread it around. This made the hearts very sparkly, which we love! The bulletin board looks great. We're ready for Valentine's Day!
We also celebrated J's 6th birthday today. He brought in delicious cupcakes to share with us.

Another 1/2 Birthday!!!

Today, we celebrated G's 1/2 birthday. His mother brought in delicious cupcakes with drinks to share with the class. Of course, the class loved it! We will be having many more 1/2 birthday and birthday celebrations from now until February. Eight to be exact! Then, we will have a birthday break until April. With all of the upcoming birthdays, Valentine's Day, and the 100th day of school, we will be ready to celebrate!

M's Half Birthday!

Today, we celebrated M's 1/2 birthday. She brought yummy cookies and goodie bags filled with candy to share with us. The students loved the treats, and they were thanking her repeatedly. Luckily, we had a healthy orange from the fresh fruits and vegetables program to eat along with the goodies. :-)

Fruit Loop Math

In math, we glued Fruit Loops to winter pictures. First, the students colored the pictures. Then, they glued Fruit Loops to all of the circles on the pictures. The Fruit Loops made buttons for the coat and snowmen. Also, the Fruit Loops made decorations for the mittens, snowflakes, and scarf. Lastly, the students counted and wrote the number of Fruit Loops glued to each picture. For example, they counted how many Fruit Loops they glued to the snowflakes. Of course, we had to eat the rest of the Fruit Loops for a snack after we finished our place mats. The place mats are proudly displayed in the hallway.












In music, they played drums. I got a great video of them playing.
