Dr Seuss' Birthday/Read Across America Day

Today, we celebrated a very special birthday. We celebrated Dr. Seuss' 108th birthday. We did several Dr. Seuss activities. In reading groups, we made Cat in the Hat "hats" with -at words written on them.
Here are some of them holding up their "-at hats":

At the end of the day, we went to Mrs. Johnston's kindergarten room to celebrate Read Across America Day with 3rd grade. The 3rd graders partnered up with the kindergarteners and read Dr. Seuss and other books to them. It was a lot of fun and very sweet sight to see. This 3rd grade class was my first kindergarten class, so it was a very heartwarming and special event.
