A Heart Glyph

We did a fun heart glyph today. It had lots of questions about what they like to do in their free time. The hearts turned out really silly, and they did another wonderful job following directions. We also played a fun Valentine's game with partners in math. Each partner had a game board with hearts with numbers in them (2-12). The partners took turns rolling a pair of dice. They counted the dots on the dice and colored in the heart with the corresponding number on it. The first partner to get all of the hearts colored was the winner. They did such a good job working nicely together that they all got scratch-and-sniff stickers after the game! Lastly, we have been painting this week in centers. In art center, they drew Valentine's pictures such as hearts, flowers, candy, etc. After they finished drawing their pictures, they painted them in. I think they have turned out great! The last couple students will be finishing up their pictures tomorrow just in time for Valentine's Day. :-)
