Sorting Fish

In math, each student was given a bag of fish. We laid the fish out and decided on some different ways to sort them. We sorted them in several different ways. First, we sorted them by which fish had bubbles and which did not. Then, we sorted them by pointy fins or curved fins. Finally, we sorted them by whether they had a smile or puckered fish lips. Next, we wrote smile on one side of our paper and pucker on the other side. Then, we glued the fish to the correct side and colored them in. We also had another friend bring in a book to read to us for story time. He did a very nice job and even asked us some questions about the book.
